9 Days Tour to Merzouga from Casablanca

Today on this Morocco Vacation Tour, we will visit the Hassan II Mosque before going to Rabat. In Rabat you can visit the ruins of Chellah, the Mechouar of the Royal Palace, the Hassan Tower and the Mohammed V Mausoleum. After lunch we will continue to Meknes to arrive in the evening.

After breakfast we will have a stroll through Meknes including El Hdim square, Bab El Mansour, the enormous entryway which is the way to the old city and the Jewish quarter, the Royal Granaries and the city rampart. We will then continue via Volubilis, the Roman ruins and Moulay Idriss, the holy town. We will proceed to Fes. Supper and overnight at a conventional riad.

You will have a guided tour to discover the medina and the famous souks of Fes – its narrow streets are filled with ancient mosques and minarets. We will visit the most beautiful palaces and monuments of Fez and our guided tour will include a visit to the tannery and the ceramic cooperative to see traditional Moroccan crafts.

Today we will leave for Merzouga through the Middle and the Atlas region and drive through Ifrane, the ‘Switzerland’ of Morocco and the cedar woods of Azrou where we can stop to feed the monkeys. We will continue to Midelt where we will have our lunch. We will then go through the Ziz River to stop to see the Ziz Gorges on our way to Merzouga village.

Today we will investigate the desert area and the mystery that is the Erg Chebbi desert ridges. We will make a circuit in the desert where you will have the chance to see the nomad’s lifestyle and the stunning changing contrasts of the sahara. We will visit the ‘black town’ of Khamlia to see the Gnawa performers and have a conventional Berber pizza for lunch. Toward the evening we will ride the camels to watch the sunset over the dunes and spend the night in the camp. We will have a conventional tagine dinner, and we tune in to traditional Berber music.

We will get up early to see the astonishing dawn over the rises before coming back to the hotel for breakfast and a shower. We will viti Rissani market and cross the palm-lined valleys of Tinjdad and Tourog to reach the Todra Gorge. Go out for a stroll in the Todra Gorges and eat in a nearby restaurant before proceeding to the Dades Gorge where we’ll remain an overnight in a local restaurant.

After breakfast we will go out for a stroll in the canyon and afterward take the off-road track to see the nomad caves. We will proceed on our journey to El Kelaa Magona, Valley of the Roses and the Skoura oasis to arrive at Ouarzazate. Afterward we will continue to Ait Benhaddou and visit the World Heritage site. We will proceed with a visit to the High Atlas mountain to the Berber town of Telouet and the Kasbah el Glaoui. We will take our lunch in a restaurant in Telouet before passing the Tizi-n-Tichka to Marrakech.

You will have a guided visit to find the numerous facets of Marrakech with a walk around the maze of narrow alleys of the Medina among its renowned Souks and a visit to the most delightful castles and landmarks of Marrakech.

We will spend the morning (free time) for shopping or relaxing in Marrakech before leaving mid-afternoon to arrive at Casablanca around 4 pm. That will be the end of your Morocco Vacation Tour.
